Volunteer Program
Adults and teenagers who wish to give back to the community participate in our volunteer program. As each volunteer works with our certified instructors they receive training that equips them with the necessary knowledge and skills that ensures their ability to assist the instructors in conducting safe, effective and therapeutic sessions for each participant. Throughout the time a volunteer is with us they are encouraged to continue with their skill development which is recognized by documenting knowledge gained and skills developed through a three level skill development program.
Margo Dewkett, Windridge's Executive Director states, "The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow, believe in them!" Windridge's teen volunteers search for their truths, while working together for the betterment of those participating in our therapeutic horsemanship programs and each other; in turn, impacting the well being of our community. This attitude unifies the teens at Windridge. As one teen clearly states, "I am taught how to spell, use math, speak a foreign language, and understand the definition of a verb in school, but at Windridge I learn about life."
